The disease is often progressive and fatal. It is characterized by impaired control over drinking, preoccupation with the drug alcohol, use of alcohol despite adverse consequences, and distortions in thinking, most notably denial. Each of these symptoms may be continuous or periodic.†(The Columbia Encyclopedia, 2013) According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, â€Å"excessive alcohol us led to approximately 88,000 deaths each year in the United States from 2006- 2010. Seasons change from the blazing sun of summer, to the vivid colors of the fall, and then the freezing snow of winter. Many people vary in which season they relish the most, but I enjoy three of the four seasons Mother Nature has to offer. I savor the time during the summer, fall, and winter that I get to spend with family and friends.
